Floydada, Texas, is the county seat of Floyd County high on the Llano Estacado in West Texas. Sometimes referred to as the Pumpkin Capital of Texas, Floydada is a rural community rich in history. One of the largest pulls of Floydada is the sizeable farming community. The land surrounding Floydada was once covered in grassland vegetation where bison roamed. After the bison were eradicated, the grass prairies were replaced by cropland where cotton, grain sorghum, wheat, and pumpkin are now grown. With a population of 3,038 as of the 2010 US Census, over two square miles of land, and a number of workforce development programs provided by the Floydada Professional Development Center and the Floydada Economic Development Corporation, Floydada, Texas, is a wonderful place to live and work.
